Personally, I have found more success in simply supplementing my diet with vitamins and minerals that kill off the materials acne thrives on. Why? Because it’s inexpensive, and it doesn’t involve making drastic changes to my eating habits.
Granted, while my eating habits are nothing to write home about, I also don’t overdo on foods that can cause acne to flourish. If you’re eating far too much of the wrong kind of food, your whole body will suffer, and your skin will show it. Thus, changing a few of your eating habits can’t hurt. But you must do it the right way, and you must make sure you take vitamin supplements that will benefit your acne-prone skin as well.
Something else you should be on the lookout for while searching for an acne free diet is how much detoxifying you need to do. You must detox your body somewhat if you’re going to get an acne diet to work properly, but you’d probably prefer your intestines to be intact after surviving the experience. Thus, you shouldn’t undergo a detox routine unless it’s relatively short. My experience suggests it should last no longer than 3-5 days.
Other foods that will help your body in ridding your skin of acne are fiber-rich foods that, to put it politely, cleanse your colon. Things like raisins, prunes, peaches, apricots, and other fruits with slightly abrasive skin can all assist in cleansing your insides to produce a cleansed outside.
